Scope

there is a need to determine the levels of interference which may occur at typical observatory sites, due to various sources of interference;

Recommends

  1. that, in the absence of particular information concerning the radiation pattern of the radio astronomy antenna involved, the mathematical model of the average radiation pattern as stated below should be used for compatibility analyses between non-GSO systems and RAS stations for frequencies above 150 MHz:
  2. G(ϕ) = Gmax – 2.5 × 10–3 Dλϕ2 dBi for 0 < ϕ < ϕm
  3. G(ϕ) = G1 for ϕm ≤ ϕ < ϕr
  4. G(ϕ) = 29 – 25 log ϕ dBi for ϕr ≤ ϕ < 10°
  5. G(ϕ) = 34 – 30 log ϕ dBi for 10° ≤ ϕ < 34.1°
  6. G(ϕ) = –12 dBi for 34.1° ≤ ϕ < 80°
