Executive summary
Agenda item 8 handles requests from administrations to delete their country footnotes, or to remove their country name from a shared footnote, when the special arrangement is no longer needed, taking into account Resolution 26 (Rev.WRC-23).
Country footnotes in the frequency allocation table record national deviations — extra allocations or special conditions for named countries. When those arrangements lapse, this item lets the country tidy the table by removing the entry, keeping the allocation table an accurate reflection of real use.
Background
Over decades the allocation table accumulates country-specific footnotes, some of which outlive their purpose. Resolution 26 provides the standing method for a country to have its footnote — or just its name within a footnote — deleted on request.
The work is housekeeping, but it improves clarity: fewer stale national exceptions make the table easier to read and reduce the risk of relying on an arrangement that no longer applies.
