What's being studied — points to watch

Unwanted-emission limits

The lever is limits on out-of-band and spurious emissions from active services — chiefly GSO and non-GSO space stations — not new restrictions on where they operate.

Windows fixed by nature

EESS (passive) sensors and radio astronomy observe at frequencies set by physics; shifting frequency to avoid interference is not possible (Res. 712).

Updating Res. 750 and Res. 739

The outcome would revise the existing protection resolutions — Res. 750 for EESS (passive), Res. 739 thresholds for radio astronomy — several of whose bands have no thresholds today.

Allocations stay as they are

No change is intended to Article 5 allocations or their status above 86 GHz, nor to the existing fixed-service provisions protecting 86–92 GHz (Res. 712).
