Alerting signals in the global maritime distress and safety system (GMDSS)

Section I − Satellite emergency position-indicating radiobeacon signals (WRC-23)

§ 1 The emergency position-indicating radiobeacon signal in the frequency band 406-406.1 MHz shall be in accordance with Recommendation ITU-R M.633-5. (WRC-23)

Section II − Digital selective calling

§ 2 The characteristics of the “distress call” (see No. 32.9) in the digital selective calling system should be in accordance with the most recent version of Recommendation ITU-R M.493. (WRC-12)
